My Friday

It's officially my weekend and I have all sorts of fun stuff planned.

A wonderful friend of the family, Sandra, asked me to take some photos at a fabulous party she threw this week.  When I say fabulous, I mean FABULOUS.  She lives in an 8,000 square foot home.  Seriously posh.  The party was a blast, and I've finally finished editing the pictures.  Felt like it took forever, but it's done and I can't wait to show them to her tomorrow over lunch!  I was able to sneak a few pictures of the backyard and dining room.  Isn't it beautiful?!

Tomorrow I am also doing a little birthday shopping for my dad.  My sister, Chad and I are all chipping in to get him a new ipod this year since his old one met its demise a few months ago.   Have you seen how cool looking the new nanos are?  I'm going to check it out first to make sure it isn't too complicated for my technology hating father.

Then tomorrow evening I'm going to yoga with my mom and my mom in law.  Not only have they been going with me every week now, but they're actually enjoying it!  I really wasn't expecting for them to like it so much, but they do and it really makes me so happy!

Thursday Chad and I have the day off together, so we're planning on heading out the farmer's market.  I didn't even know THIS farmer's marked existed until recently.  It's run by Mario Batali's restaurant group, who happen to be very passionate about the environment and sustainability.  I think it was such a cool idea for them to start a farmer's market in order to keep the menus for their 3 Vegas restaurants as "green" as possible.  Not only is it wonderful for the environment, but it's good for the community as well.  It's often hard to find a sense of "community" here in Vegas, so things like this get me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

I'm off to bed now.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

It's September?

My weekend was the really, really great.  Things are finally starting to feel "normal" again and I am so glad that the summer is almost over!  It was my first weekend in a long time that felt restful... And the best part of it was that I actually accomplished everything on my seemingly never ending "to-do" list.

My weekend started off with some window shopping and then yoga.  It's been months since I've gone to class and let me tell you, it's good to be back.  After such a long hiatus I'm certainly feeling the effects of plank, down dog and tree pose.  My mother in law joined me and so did my friend Christy.  It was a blast and I really hope they come with me every week.  I'm also hoping my mom will start coming with us.  It would be a really great way for her to de-stress after such a weird summer.

Speaking of yoga, I really really want to buy THIS shirt to wear to class.

This weekend I headed to Michael's for some supplies to make a new wreath.  I'm not sure why I love making wreaths so much.  I find it to be a fun, easy and cheap creative outlet.  I'm always so pleased with the way they turn out and I love knowing that I made it myself for a mere 15 bucks as opposed to having bought it for a whopping 40 bucks at Pier 1.  Ridiculous!

This weekend I also spent some quality time with this handsome face.  Brunello brings me so much joy.  There is something so special about the relationship Chad and I have with him.  It sounds so silly, but I never thought I could love a dog so much.  He's taught me about love and life and I am so thankful for him.  Wouldn't you be too if you had a dog this cute?

Also, I came home from work earlier this week with a nice little surprise from Chad.  He went out and picked up a copy of Eat Pray Love for me.  Isn't he thoughtful?  I just started it and I'm loving it already.  I've had my eye on this book for years and am so glad to finally have it.  I can't wait to see the movie once I've finished!

That's all for now.  I hope you're all having a fantastic week!
